Étymologie modifier

Apparenté au breton kazeg (« jument »), kezeg (« chevaux »), du celtique *kankstikā, d’un radical indo-européen commun *ḱonk-[1] « sauter » qui donne Hengst (« étalon ») en allemand, hengst (« étalon ») en néerlandais.
