Discussion:synectique

A very famous French Mathematician (Marie Camille Jordan) uses this word in his most famous work. Section 1 of Chapitre II of Tome Premier of Cours d'Analyse de l'Ecole Polytechnique, 1909 is called Foncions Synectique. I initially took this to mean Analytic Functions but in a later volume the term Fonctions Analytique appears. This might just be a change in French nomenclature by the later date but I chose to use holomorphic functions for fonctions synectique and analytic functions for fonctions analytique.
