Native, warm-season, perennial, trailing and twining legume. Stems have dense, rusty, spreading hairs. Leaves have 3 ovate to diamond-shaped leaflets, each 1.5-7 cm long and densely hairy on both surfaces. Flowerheads are racemes to 20 cm long, with pink to purple pea-like flowers to 6 mm long that develop into hairy, narrow, segmented pods 15-25 mm long. Flowering is from spring to early autumn. Found on sandy or stony soils in woodlands and
forests. Native biodiversity. Plants have low digestibility, but are palatable and have high crude protein levels. Pod segments are sticky and spread by adhesion to passing animals. Tolerant of fire. Tolerant to grazing once a good taproot is established, but will decline under heavy constant grazing. Persists best under light intermittent grazing.
